Google Sign-In and Google User Data
Last Updated: September 21, 2026
K12 Professional Development Tracker, a service of Patacca Services LLC (“K12 PD Tracker,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), allows authorized users to sign in to the K12 Professional Development Tracker application at app.k12pdtracker.com using their Google account instead of, or in addition to, a K12 PD Tracker password. This section explains the information we receive through Google Sign-In, how we use and protect that information, when it may be shared, how long it is retained, and the choices available to users.
Information We Receive from Google
When you choose Sign in with Google, Google authenticates your identity and provides K12 PD Tracker with limited information associated with your Google account. Depending on the information available in your Google account, this may include:
- your Google account identifier;
- your email address;
- whether Google has verified your email address;
- your first and last name; and
- your Google profile picture.
K12 PD Tracker requests only the Google account information necessary to authenticate you and associate your Google identity with your K12 PD Tracker account.
K12 PD Tracker does not request access through Google Sign-In to the contents of your Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, Google Photos, or other Google services. K12 PD Tracker does not receive or have access to your Google password.
How We Use Google User Data
Information received from Google is used to provide and maintain the Google Sign-In functionality of K12 PD Tracker.
Specifically, we may use this information to:
- authenticate your identity;
- locate and match you with the K12 PD Tracker account maintained for you by your school district or other subscribing organization;
- create or maintain the association between your Google account and your K12 PD Tracker account;
- populate or update basic profile information, such as your name and profile picture, when appropriate; and
- protect the security and integrity of your account and the K12 PD Tracker service.
We do not use Google user data for advertising, targeted advertising, marketing profiles, creditworthiness determinations, or data brokerage purposes.
We do not sell Google user data.
We do not use Google user data to train generalized artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.
Storage and Retention of Google User Data
When a Google account is successfully linked to a K12 PD Tracker account, we retain your Google account identifier and email address as part of the linked sign-in record associated with your account. Your name may be retained as part of your K12 PD Tracker user profile, and, when provided and used by the application, a copy of your Google profile picture is stored within private file storage used by K12 PD Tracker rather than loaded from Google each time it is displayed.
Information transmitted by Google in connection with an initial Google Sign-In or account-linking process may be held on a transitional basis solely for the purpose of completing that process. Such transitional authentication information is retained only for the limited period reasonably necessary to complete authentication or account linking and is thereafter deleted in the ordinary course of operations. The transitional retention described in this paragraph does not affect the retention of information that has been incorporated into your K12 PD Tracker account, which is governed by the provisions that follow.
Information incorporated into your K12 PD Tracker account may be retained for as long as necessary to provide the service, maintain the applicable district or organizational record, comply with contractual or legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or otherwise fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Removal of Google Sign-In authorization does not necessarily delete information that has become part of the professional development or staff record maintained in K12 PD Tracker. Those records may be maintained on behalf of your school district or other subscribing organization and may be subject to that organization's records-retention requirements.
Sharing and Disclosure of Google User Data
K12 PD Tracker does not sell or rent information received from Google.
Your name and email address may be visible to authorized administrators of the school district or other organization responsible for your K12 PD Tracker account because that information forms part of the staff and professional development record maintained through the service. The same information may be available to those authorized administrators regardless of whether you authenticate using Google or a K12 PD Tracker password.
We may disclose or permit processing of Google user data by service providers that perform services necessary to operate, secure, host, maintain, or support K12 PD Tracker. Such providers may process information only as necessary to perform services on our behalf and subject to applicable contractual, confidentiality, privacy, and security obligations.
We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to protect the security of the service, investigate fraud or abuse, comply with applicable law or valid legal process, or protect the rights, property, or safety of K12 PD Tracker, our subscribing organizations, or our users.
We do not transfer Google user data to advertising networks, data brokers, or information resellers.
Removing Google Sign-In
You may disconnect your Google account from your K12 PD Tracker account from within the application by navigating to:
Profile → Security → Linked sign-in accounts, then choosing Remove beside the Google account.
You may also revoke K12 PD Tracker's access through the permissions and third-party connections settings associated with your Google account, at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Revoking authorization through Google prevents future use of that authorization but does not automatically delete information previously incorporated into your K12 PD Tracker account.
Requests to Delete Information
You may request deletion of personal information maintained by K12 PD Tracker by contacting [email protected].
Because K12 PD Tracker provides services to school districts and other subscribing organizations, certain records may be maintained on behalf of your organization. Requests involving district-controlled records may therefore need to be processed in coordination with, or referred to, the applicable school district or subscribing organization. Information may also be retained when required by applicable law, contractual obligations, legitimate records-retention requirements, security requirements, or the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.
Google API Services User Data Policy
K12 Professional Development Tracker's use and transfer to any other application of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Consistent with those requirements, Google user data obtained by K12 PD Tracker is used only to provide or improve user-facing features associated with the K12 PD Tracker service and for other uses permitted by Google's applicable policies.
Security
K12 PD Tracker maintains administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information and Google user data against unauthorized access, acquisition, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
Google authentication occurs through Google's authentication systems. K12 PD Tracker does not collect or store your Google account password.
No method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and therefore we cannot guarantee absolute security. We nevertheless maintain safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information processed and the services provided.
Changes to Our Use of Google User Data
If K12 PD Tracker materially changes the Google account information it requests or the purposes for which Google user data is collected, used, stored, or shared, we will update this Privacy Policy and any other notices or consent mechanisms required by applicable Google policies or law.
We will not use Google user data for materially different purposes without providing any notice or consent required by applicable law or Google's policies.
